External design
The XC40’s exterior design remains one of its strong points. With its flowing, dynamic lines, compact dimensions and a modern, attractive face, the car immediately catches the eye. The grille with a large Volvo logo, LED headlights with a Thor’s Hammer design and unique vertical taillights are among the XC40’s signature design elements. In higher trim levels, larger alloy wheels and sportier exterior details are also noticeable. A variety of body colors provide buyers with greater personalization options.
Interior design
The XC40 cabin combines Scandinavian design, simplicity, minimalism and the use of high-quality materials. The dashboard with its horizontal design and simple lines makes the interior appear larger. The use of leather, synthetic leather, wood and metal in various parts of the cabin inspires a sense of luxury and quality. The seats, with their ergonomic design and proper body support, ensure the comfort of passengers on long journeys. Legroom and headroom are good for both front and rear passengers, although rear seat space may be a bit limited for three passengers. The 460-litre boot offers ample space for everyday and travel gear.
Technical specifications
The most significant change for the 2025 model is the removal of the B5 mild-hybrid engine and the introduction of the B4 mild-hybrid petrol engine on all models. This 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, aided by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, produces 145kW (197hp) and 300Nm of torque. This power is sent to all four wheels (AWD) via an 8-speed automatic transmission. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in around 8.5 seconds and has a combined fuel consumption of 7.3 liters per 100 km. The 54-liter fuel tank also allows drivers to travel considerable distances without having to refuel.
